On December 17, 2022, a representative from the Vietnam Association of English Language Teaching and Research (VIETTESOL) visited Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, an optimistic and resilient teacher who is battling against breast cancer. Ms. Van is a lecturer in the English department at the School of Foreign Languages and Tourism, Hanoi University of Industry, and her family is facing financial difficulties with two young children and her husband having an unstable income.
The VietTESOL representative decided to give Ms. Van a gift worth 5,000,000 VND. This gift is sourced from the fund of Mrs. Diana Dudzik through VietTESOL Association to be dedicated to English teachers who unfortunately suffer from cancer.
Although it is a modest amount, the association hopes that it will give her the motivation to continue fighting and overcome this difficult time.
